What this policy covers

This policy covers the Masjid ul Hidayah prayer timetable app for iPhone and Android, published by Masjid ul Hidayah, 2A Church Road, Manor Park, London, E12 6AQ, registered charity number 1189891. It does not cover the masjid's website or its madrassah system, which have their own privacy notice.

Information we collect

None. Specifically, the app does not:

• ask you to create an account, sign in, or give your name or email
• ask for your location, contacts, photos, calendar or microphone
• contain any analytics, advertising, or tracking software
• use any third-party service that would receive information about you
• send us any information about you, your phone, or how you use the app

There is nothing for us to store, share or sell, because we never receive it.

What the app stores on your phone

The app saves a copy of the prayer timetable on your own device, so the times still show when you are offline and so the home-screen and lock-screen widgets can display them without using data. This copy contains only prayer times and dates. It stays on your phone, it is never sent anywhere, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

The one request the app makes

To show you today's times, the app asks the masjid's website for them over a secure (HTTPS) connection. It sends nothing except the dates it is asking about.

As with visiting any website, our web server records ordinary technical details of that request in its logs, which can include your IP address. We do not use these logs to identify or track anyone; they exist so the server can be kept running and secure. We are mentioning it because it is true, not because we do anything with it.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children. It has no accounts, no messaging, no user-generated content and no links out to other services.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you. Because this app collects none, there is no personal data for us to show, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, or you have any question about this policy, please contact us and we will answer.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the effective date above before releasing that version. We will not begin collecting information without saying so here first.
